Christmas Window Displays in London

Happy New Year !

My new years resolution is defiantly to blog more and keep up to date with postings. I have set up a another blog which you can find here/ levinevictoria. Which will be more for showing things to do with uni. I have found that I can't leave this blog so I am going to use this one for everything and anything I find interesting.

I thought I would do a little post on the trip I had up to London during christmas for my Birthday. There were some beautiful window displays this year and I thought I would share my favourites with you.

Victoria Secrets
Been a huge fan for years now I think they put on great catwalk shows. I thought that the outfits for this years 2012 show were amazing. I was lucky enough to go and see them on display.

Love the wings :)

Tiffany&Co

Tiffany&Co had miniature window displays. I decided to post this up as I thought they were really cute. I loved how everything was in miniature especically the little turquoise presents.

Ralph Lauren

Loved these window displays. I love the white theme running through each of them. Made me feel like I was in a perfect white winter wonderland

I also did a post about the Harrods christmas window display here. Its on my other blog has I helped on the Jenny Packham Rapunzel dress.

Chain Headband

Good evening, today the sun was out a bit finally which makes a change from all this bad weather we've been having. I thought tonight I would upload some photos of a new headband which I got a few weeks ago when the weather was really hot ! I admit the photos I have taking are not the best of me but I was in a bit of a hurry to take them. I love my new chain headband I think it looks very oriental which makes me love it even more :) ! I am fan of the floral ones however I don't think they suit me as much. I feel the chain one suits my style a bit more :).  I got the headband for only £2 from Dorothy Perkins.

Chain Headband is from Dorothy Perkins

I got the crop top from New Look in the sale a few weeks ago.

I went a bit colourful on the eyes by mixing pink and green with a black gel liner

Eyeshadow: Purple and Pink from a Rimmel eye palette
Liner on top: Maybelline Black Gel Liner
Liner on bottom: Kohl pencil by Barrym green 21
Mascara: Thick and Fast Black

H&M to collaborate with Maison Martin Margiela?

Hello my little fashionistas I have some exciting news. When exploring the web today I came across an article about how H&M is collaborating with Maison Martin Margiela this time to create a collection. However from the article it has not defiantly been confirmed!
Below I have added a few images of garments from past collection from Maison Martin Margiela. From looking at these I am very excited to see what will be created.

Hmmmm.... I wonder was will be created for H&M.

A few years back Maison Martin Margiela teamed with Damiani to create a 14 piece jewellery collection. I think that the collection was beautiful. The jewellery was big and junky and would stick out and make a statement when worn.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that Maison Martin Margiela will be doing a collection with H&M.

DIY Headband Tutorial Inspired by D&G

I had this old black velvet headband lying around so I decided to customise it a few weeks ago.  I was really pleased with how it turned out.  So decided I  would post up a little DIY tutorial on how I did it. I got my inspiration to make the hair band from Dolce and Gabbana's headbands (picture at the end).
You will need a hairband, superglue/fabric glue, cottonwood bud, scissors and some cart bits I've used an old broken pearl necklace and to add a bit of gold I used a southern comfort necklace which I got from a club one night lol :).

I cut the string between the beads to get one individual beads. I then played around what sort of pattern I wanted to along my headband.
I then got the glue and for a more accurate and easier application of the glue I used a cotton wool stick to apply the glue onto each of the beads.
I kept going until the band was covered in beads from one end to the other.
I decided to add a few gems to mine at the end to make it appear more full and to make it a bit more glamorous. I really like how the D&G one has been cover with little gems and charms. I also love the black, gold and pearl combination.
D&G Headband

I will hopefully have a post of my headband with an outfit very soon, so stay tuned. I would love to hear your comments and thoughts of what you thought of my DIY tutorial. While the summer is hear have a go !

WSA Graduate Fashion Show Truman Backstage Part 2

Here are some more photos of backstage at WSA Graduate Fashion Show in London on Monday 28th May 2012.

Getting ready

Cute little handbag. This was part of Amanda Thompson's Collection.
Amanda Thompsons Collection was very vintage inspired, old traditions. A lot of lace was used with big embroidered prints. The collection reminded my of the countryside on a hot summary day.

Amanda Thompson had made cute little hats to go with her garments. The hats were decorated using flowers and also vintage gloves which had been shrunken. (will try and find a photo of this)

 Garments from Xiaoge Xue collection

 Xiao Dan Yang Collection
I really Loved this one with the structured jackets and mosaic print

Glitter Shoes to go with Amanda Thompson Collection

Japanses/Ballet Style shoes to go with Kayleigh Horn's Collection

Me and my model Petra who I helped dress

Hope you enjoyed it. Ill see how the other photos I took came out to post up !

On Monday 28th May 2012 Winchester School of Art third year graduates showcased their collections at the Truman Brewery Show up in London ( Brick Lane). I have taken loads of pictures, too many in fact and it has taking me a long time to pick and choose which ones to use. The pictures below are of the models getting their hair and make up done.

Make up by Juliana Sergot

I want a mirror like this when doing my make up and hair.

Hair by Jonny Engstorm and Guy Kremer team for L'Oreal Preofessional

Hopefully next post will show bits and pieces of the third year collections.

4) You ignite all the colours inside my heart

Denim Jacket : New Look

Black top : Tescos

Body chain: Topshop

Ring: New Look

Shoes: Newlook

Printed Leggings: Primark

Bought a new gold body chain the other day half price from topshop and decided to try out it yesterday for uni. I LOVE IT. It really makes a dull plain boring top look more interesting. I paired which some printed leggings, to that the chains on the necklace would pick ouy the chain print on the leggings. I went for a black top becasue I love black and gold togther. as I think it looks very Eygption. This inspired my make up by putting two black flicks at the side of my eyes.

Hope you like it.
