Goodbye 2011, Hello 2012

Happy New Years Eve everyone !!

Well todays the last day of 2011 and I am going to miss it. Ive had a wonderful year this year. My highlight of this has to be going to Paris with all my uni friends and going to London Fashion Weekend in September with my good friend Kirsti. I have also started my second year at uni which I am really enjoying at the moment :)

For New Years I'm up at Newcastle at the moment visiting my lovely cousins:) Went to the metro yesterday and bought a lovely shirt from Lipsy london which I can't wait to wear. I think for New years eve we are all going to get merry and go down the ranch :) !

News Years resolutions !

New years resolutions are a tricky one for me because if I'm honest I don't always stick to them ;) Next Year I need to blog more and try and get more followers :) Also I really want to start using Lookbook this year to. Now I have photoshop to size the photo up there should be know excuse. :) I need to keep more organised with uni work and not let it get on top of me :) !

And finally I must not be afraid to try something new next year :)

Mini Mannequin

For this terms uni project we have had to look at a film to gain inspiration from. The film I have chosen is High Society, with Grace Kelly in. Last friday before we broke up I did a toile of what my kite was going to be like using a mini mannequin. I thought I would post it on my blog, because I just loved working with the little mannequin. It was a much quicker way to produce a toile. I have decided to do a big sticky out skirt like the skirts Grace kelly wore. But I have decided to make mine shorter to make it more modern. Below are photos of my mini toile. I have used about 6 layers I think to create the fullness.

Coca Cola's Tribute to Fashion

Today when exploring the internet I cam across this. During Milan Fashion week 2011, fashion designers had designed coca cola bottles in their own unique style!

Bulmarie Coca Cola Bottles

Versace Coca Cola Bottles. I love these, I think that these ones are my favourite. The middle one reminds of Paris and Burlesque/theatre. I Love the colours on this one.

Above is Moschinos coca cola bottles. I love the flamenco inspired bottle the best. I feel that this portrays the Spanish flavour in Moschinos designs

Above is Missoni's Coca cola bottles. Missoni used there unique zig-zag stibes to create their own uniqie coca cola bottle

All the coca cola bottles designed by the designers were for coca cola light !
When I went to London fashion weekend, in the goodie bag I got a Karl Lagerfeld diet coke bottle !!

Duchess Catherine Middleton has been awarded britians best dressed of 2011 by the well known british magazone Harpers Bazzar !

Kate Middleton stunned us all back in April when she wore a wedding dressed designed by Alexander McQueen. People have said this has the fashion moment of the year, maybe even the fashion monemt of the century !! By Kate wearing lace deffiantly started a trend off for lace for this summer 2011.

Kate Middleton always shows adelightful taste in how a styleish sophistcated youg british shhould dresss like ! Personally I feel that she has made the lady-like look, made more trendy for youner british women !

Please Help SAVE GOLDHAWK ROAD!

Goldhawk road has many well known and is a good source to get exciting and good quality fabrics. Many fashion students and designer go to Goldhawk road to source their fabrics. I heard from a friend that the council in that area wants to demolish all the shops along that street and build about 200 new private homes !!! What are they thinking, demolishing all of them ??

Please help save the fabric shops along Goldhawk road my signing this petition, and help speard the word !

Gucci F/W 2011 Collection

WOW! What can I say i'm in love with this seasons Gucci collection. I love the bug fur collars and the lobg floaty chiffon dresses that came down swishing down the catwalk. I also love the colour scheme especially the deep purples and turquoise shades.

I think that the embleshed flowers around that go around the collar and down the arms, really stand out and create and impact. I also love the high waisted shorts/briefs underneath the chiffon skirts. I think that this really elongates the models legs and makes the look more sexy

I really like the bright colourful felt hats with the models pulled back sllek staright hair. I think this creates an elegant femine sophisticated look. I also feel that the hat brings a more of a business work look to the overall collection

The Wide Brim Felt Hat !

I am loving the new song by Marron 5 with Christina Aguilera. I am especailly loving the wide brim felt black hat that she wears in the music video. I think that it really suits her and look very classy and also a bit retro (very vintage). The hat really stands out from the brillant blonde hair Christina has. I think that the hat is very much from the 70's style.

I really want one of these hats, my favourite one I have seen is in H&M, they have a range of colours to choose from, black, tan, or pruple. Personally I really like the black one however I am tempted by the tan as I have really dark brown hair. However I think the black one will go best with my very light complection ? ?

Duchess Kate Middleton's impact on fashion

I went to dublin last weekend and as I was going through debnehams, I noticed the display which showed a short black evening dress decorated with lace. The bodice part of this dress just looks like the top bodice of Kate middletons wedding dress which was deigned by the fashion of Alexander McQueen. I love this dress I think it is beautiful and elegant. I love how the lac shoes through the structure of the sweet heart lines bodice, and also how the lace covers arms. I think that debnehams have done a realy nice job on making a copy of the wedding dress. I'm glad its not white as I think it would have made it look like a wedding dress. LOVE IT xxxxxxxxxx

Summer Florals

Finally, summer is here and its time to get out those key floral peices. I love the floral print as it reminds mames me feel girly, flirty and all romantic !!

This dress was bought from Topshop last year 2010. Its my favourite floral dress becuase the colors of theflowers are pale pinks, blues and yellows. It is also short which means i can show off my tanned summer legs. This dress deffiantely gives a romantic and girly feel becuase of the pale and natural tones of the floral print. However with this dress being pale - it tends to be quite see through !

I also love the back of the dress with the striped pannels as it shows off my back but not too much of it.
